Who we are
Coopsphere is a product of ASH Global Network Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria. For information handled on behalf of a customer organization, that organization generally decides why and how member information is used, and Coopsphere acts as its service provider. For our own website visitors, account holders and business contacts, Coopsphere decides how information is used.
Information we collect
- Identity information such as name, date of birth and photograph where provided.
- Contact information such as email address, phone number and location.
- Membership information such as organization, role, position and account status.
- KYC information and supporting documents where an organization uses those features.
- Financial records such as contributions, loans, repayments and expenses recorded by the organization.
- Account credentials (stored in hashed form) and authentication metadata.
- Device, technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type and product activity.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure and support the platform.
- To authenticate users and enforce permissions.
- To deliver notifications, reminders and service communications.
- To generate the reports and records requested by the organization.
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To meet legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that host, secure, support or extend the platform, with payment or identity providers where an organization enables those integrations, and with authorities where we are legally required to do so. The categories of providers we use are listed in the Subprocessor List.
Retention
Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service and to satisfy legal, regulatory and contractual requirements. See the Data Retention Schedule for the periods that apply.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to certain processing. If your information was provided to Coopsphere by an organization, we will normally direct your request to that organization. Requests can be sent to support@coopsphere.org.
Applicable law
Coopsphere is designed to operate in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 where it applies. Where we process personal information subject to the GDPR, we apply the relevant requirements and contractual safeguards. Applicability depends on the location and nature of the organization, its users and the processing involved.
